CALL FOR STUDENT FILMS
Calling for film entries from youth in the state of Louisiana for our first COOL Youth Film Festival (CYFF). CYFF will be held at the New Orleans Jazz Museum housed at the historic US Mint. It will be a day long event dedicated to showcasing the best youth films in the state. There will also be film activities such as creature fx, camera demos, refreshments, awards and other family oriented fun.
Louisiana Film and Entertainment (LFEA) will be hosting the awards in the following areas:
Awards will go to the following
• Best Film
• Best Cinematography
• Best Acting
• Best Editing
• Best Writing
• Bonus Awards

Rules & Terms:
CYFF screens short films (productions running for less than 10 minutes).
However, we prefer films shorter than 7 minutes.
Child made films: CYFF defines these as films made by children and teenagers
under 18 at the time of production. An adult supervisor is allowed but the film
must be conceived and created mostly by children.
Criteria for selection:
Films must be made by Louisiana residents.
Films submitted to CYFF must be suitable for children or teenagers.
Film content should be creative, have broad appeal.
Content should speak positively to children of diverse backgrounds and cultures.
Humor is good. We like a mix of meaningful and fun films.
CYFF will not select films:
- With excessive or gratuitous violence, sexual references, profanity/coarse language.
- Use of Illegal substances
- Content that advocates and supports racial, cultural, religious, or gender bias.
- With major technical glitches.
- If not in English, are not subtitled or dubbed into English.
- Which are aimed primarily at an adult audience.
